Dear Elk Mountain Ski Club Member,
This is a request on the behalf of the volunteers that make the ski club the success that it is. We currently have a group of parents in the leadership roles whose children are either close to the end of there racing careers or are no longer racing. We are looking for people to fill these positions, as we come closer to the end of the season we would like to have some of the these positions filled for the 2011 season. Please see Marguerite Bradley, Jim Coy, Paul Refice, or Bruce Newman if you may be interested in taking on a larger role in the Elk Mountain Ski Club.
Thank you,
Bruce |

Single Pole Slalom Information
Dear Alpine Ski Racing Community,
With the advent of single pole slalom for 2009-10 Racing Season, we have had many questions regarding the proper use and interpretation of the new rules. Considering the various methods of the rule interpretation, many of the leaders in the alpine community worked to develop the attached document that should clarify the understanding of the rules and how to implement them in your training and racing environment. (A special thank you to Dan Chayes, FIS TD & Coach from Pennsylvania for his simplistic and artistic creativity).
If you have more specific interest to read the rules, you can view or download the FIS Northern Hemisphere precisions at this link
http://www.fis-ski.com/data/document/prec_e_nh_0910.pdf.
These precisions were adopted by the USSA Alpine Sport Committee as an extension of the USSA (ACR) Rules for Alpine Skiing.
We trust that this communication will assist you in understanding the Single Pole Slalom and assist you in reaching out to the athletes, officials, coaches and volunteers in your local programs.
Best wishes for a successful competition season.
